Design Of Business

Business-Design-Booklet

The following is an excerpt from our Business Design Booklet in collaboration with Brand Valley Publications:

Business Design provides entrepreneurs with the principles and tools designers use when turning their ideas into reality. Business Design starts with your customers’ needs, incorporating your vision and learning from your own experiences. By combining analysis and strategic thinking with intuition and visualisation, you can be better equipped to create a sustainable business venture.

The last ten years have witnessed an explosion of new business ventures developed by individuals. Nevertheless, there are companies that have failed completely, while others that have stagnated, losing market position to more innovative newcomers. Why are some businesses successful and others not? How do market leaders entice their customers to spend hard-earned money on their products and services? What are the fundamental characteristics needed to succeed in a changing business landscape?

We believe that two of the essential ingredients for success are an entrepreneurial mindset and a capacity to engage high-quality people in the organisation. In essence, it is people who make the business and their collective passion which brings success. Such an enterprise will not only turn a profit, but can also provide a fulfilling sense of purpose.

Furthermore, designing an adaptive and flexible business model will be important. This means being sensitive to the needs and behaviours of your customers. It also means relentlessly pursuing information that will advance your business and improve your skills. Finally, it also means being open to receiving and acting upon new ideas, accepting constructive criticism, and continually learning from situations that arise.

Our Business Design methodology aims to help entrepreneurs to channel their passion and realise the potential of their ideas. To help you, we have identified five key concepts to explore: Creativity, Resiliency, Integration, Stability and Purpose (CRISP).
