“Scarcity makes being at the top worth something” – Seth Godin.

After whipping through Godin’s little book about The Dip, (why aren’t more  books like this? no ADHD excuses for not finishing it on a decent train ride) –  in a nutshell here is what you need to know:

1) Every new project starts out as exciting and fun.

2) Inevitably though at some point you come to a Dip (that’s not so much fun).

The Dip can get better if you you ride it out, or reality can sink in when you realize (and accept) you are actually in a Cul-de-Sac.  Godin helps us to identify in distinguishing between the two.  The real problem?  Even when we are conscious of the difference, when indeed we find ourselves at a dead end, for whatever reason –  we often fail to quit.  And the real irony?

Quitting strategically enables us to succeed.
